2021 PHA Banquet

The 2021 PHA Awards Banquet was held on November 20 at the Grantville Holiday Inn (just outside of Harrisburg, PA).  It was great to see everyone, and for those who could not attend, you were missed!

We were able to offer free meals to all of our qualified workers this year.  Thank you to everyone who made a donation and/or advertised in our banquet program that made this happen!   We also had some great door prizes – thank you to everyone who contributed.

After dinner was served, Rich Rock began the awards ceremony.

The Hardcore Hillclimber Award was given to all workers and drivers who worked and and/or raced all events this year.

Next up were the class awards for the following drivers.

And then the overall awards…   First was the Molti Miglia award (aka the Mileage award) for the most miles driven in competition, which went to Tim Lewis:

The Lloyd Geib Award was won by Matt Phillips:

The  Overall Champion Award was won by Bryan Fritzler.

Next were some special awards.  Rookie of the Year went to Tim Lewis:

Donna Sumner was presented with Worker of the Year!

Significant Contribution Awards were given to Steve & Nancy Lewis for all of their hard work with Timing & Scoring.  Not only did they do an excellent job taking over timing the event, they also tested and transitioned to a new timing system this year.

Rick & Patty Johnson were also awarded a Significant Contribution Award for their help with timing.  Timing an event is a lot of work, and both Rick & Patty stepped up to help in whatever capacity was needed.

Last but not least as far as timing goes, Rick Kase was also awarded a well deserved Significant Contribution Award for his help with timing.  He not only towed the timing trailer to every event, he also did the timing hardware setup of the old Race America system at all of the events where it was still being used while the new system was being tested.

I was also honored to receive a Significant Contribution Award this year.   I had to step away from timing hardware setup due to physical limitations, but picked up the rest of the non-timing tasks that Nelson used to handle — thank you for the recognition of the effort involved.

A special thanks to Wayne Domkowski for putting together the 400+ slide show of photos from the 2021 Season that was displayed on screen throughout the evening, and also for the awards slide show. He takes some really great pictures, and can be reached at bdi@blackdiamondimaging.com
