For those of us who enjoy looking at event statistics, Nelson Kase spoiled us by tracking various statistics, and posting updates to the Past Results page on the PHA website.  But he did everything manually, and Nancy Lewis and I have looked at ways to programmatically  update some of these files, but aren’t there yet.

In the meantime Nancy manually updated the statistic file that was previously shown under “Last 10 Years Competitor List” to show data from 2010 – 2023 — see Competitor List Since 2010.  2024 data will be after the end of the season.

I’m personally finding it fascinating.  There has been 112 events  during 2010-2023. 

Mike Robinson has run the most at 105 events, I (Grace Huntzinger) am second at 95, and Ray Kochin at 91.

Mark Aubele has the most class records at 52 (of the 69 events he ran).  Tom Wuellette is 2nd with 34 (of the 59 events he ran), with Dave Cutchins and Richard Good tied for 3rd at 31 (of 62 and 69 events run, respectively).

For class wins, Bob Oswald Jr has the most at 66 (of the 78 events he ran), with Richard Good in 2nd place at 65 (of the 69 events he ran), and Ray Kochin 3rd (at 91 events run).

There are so many other ways to splice the data, starting with ratios…  Don’t get me started 🙂

None of this means anything other than some really interesting statistics, but this is sort of what I do for a living (figuring out ways to analyze data), and I always loved the reports Nelson generated.  Thanks to Nancy to getting one of the major statistics reports current for those of us who love to look at this data.
