Some very sad news — Thor Pitman passed away July 7, 2025.  A memorial service will be held 8/9/2025 at the AMVETS Post in Valrico, FL.

Thor hillclimbed a Formula V with PHA for many years, often co-driving with his father John.  When his health no longer permitted him to drive, he volunteered as a corner worker before moving to FL.

Thor was one of the first to befriend me when I started hillclimbing in 2005.  I actually met him the year before at an SJR autocross when he brought his Formula V.  He took one look at my car (the silver Scirocco that I race to this day) and asked me when I was going to hillclimb it.  His encouragement was one of the main reasons I joined the PHA. 

He is gone too soon, and I will miss him.
